From a Simple Thought to Reality: How We Built a Window-Washing Business We Love

Hey, we're Jacob and Adam. Two 23-year-olds who, just a little while ago, were sitting on a couch brainstorming ideas for what we could do next. We didn’t want just any job—we wanted something we could build from the ground up, something we’d be excited to start working on tomorrow. After hours of tossing ideas back and forth, we both looked at each other and said, “Why not windows?”

Yeah, windows. It sounds simple, but there was something about it that just clicked. So, the very next day, we went out, bought a couple of squeegees, and started going door to door, offering to clean windows. We didn’t have a big plan, no website, no marketing—just a passion for something new and the drive to make it happen. And honestly, we loved it.

The First Steps: Door-to-Door Hustle

At first, it was just about making connections. People were surprised to see two young guys offering to clean their windows, but that was the best part—getting to meet folks and help out in ways that they didn’t expect. We had no experience, but we had energy, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn. We got our hands dirty, and after every job, we could see the difference we made. And that felt awesome.

From Simple Tools to Serious Equipment

As we started getting the hang of it, we realized that to really do this right, we needed to invest in some higher-quality gear. So, we started researching, and before long, we were getting water purification systems that would make sure our windows were streak-free and crystal clear. With each new investment, we grew a little more serious about the business, but we still kept it fun. It was never about just cleaning windows—it was about building something that we both enjoyed, day in and day out.

It never felt like “work.” We’d get to the end of the day, and instead of feeling burned out, we’d feel accomplished. Sometimes we’d finish up and hit the golf course to unwind—because when you’re doing something you love, a little relaxation after a job well done feels like it’s earned.

Looking back, it’s crazy to think how far we’ve come from those early days. We started with just a couple of squeegees and a ton of hustle, and now we’ve got a growing business, a loyal customer base, and a new appreciation for the little things that make a space feel brand new.

What we’ve learned along the way is simple: people love clean windows, but they also appreciate the effort and the connections that come with it. And that’s something we never expected but are so grateful for.
